South Africa Dominates New Zealand, the national team looks promising at as they journey towards the Semi-Finals

 

South Africa defeated New Zealand by 190 runs in the 2023 Cricket World Cup match at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, India.

Highlights:

  • Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen scored centuries to help South Africa post a mammoth 357/4 in 50 overs.
  • David Miller added a quickfire 50 in the final overs to further boost the Proteas total.
  • Keshav Maharaj and Marco Jansen took seven wickets between them to bowl out New Zealand for 167 in 35.3 overs.
  • Glenn Phillips was the lone shining star for the Kiwis, scoring a valiant 60.

 

Analysis:

South Africa were dominant in all aspects of the game in this match. Their batting was clinical, with de Kock and van der Dussen putting on a 200-run partnership for the second wicket. Miller then finished things off with a flourish in the final overs.

With the ball, South Africa were equally impressive. Maharaj and Jansen were both excellent, taking wickets at regular intervals. New Zealand simply could not cope with the Proteas’ bowling attack.

Conclusion:

This was a comprehensive victory for South Africa, and it further strengthens their position as one of the favorites to win the 2023 Cricket World Cup. New Zealand, on the other hand, will need to regroup and find a way to bounce back from this defeat.
